This is the update that NO ONE on this committee wanted to make.  However, we have come to the realization that it is beyond our control to do what we promised to do: PROVIDE A SAFE WEEKEND OF CELEBRATION.

Please know this comes after much fact-finding and soul-searching, such as:
●    Direct telephone conversation with the Delaware County Board of Health who late last week strongly encouraged us to postpone.

●    Article in STAR PRESS 8/23/21 reporting that the state reported 4000 new cases last Friday, numbers not seen since mid-January, with 1744 hospitalized, only 50 fewer than at the peak in Spring 2020

●    Only 13% of ICU beds available in Central Indiana, the lowest since the pandemic started

●    IU Health Ball as of 8/20/21 had 38 COVID patients, up from 32 the previous day; the IU HEALTH system (all campuses) on Friday had 20 patients in the Emergency Room waiting for beds, with no opportunity to transfer to facilities in Indianapolis because those hospitals were full.

●    CDC website ( 8/23/21) reporting  the level of community transmission in Delaware County as HIGH, (highest of 4 levels and RED, as is ALL of Indiana)

●    The Delaware County Board of Health Coronavirus Hub report of 63 new cases within  the last 24 hours

●    Numerous communications from members of the CHS class of 1971, expressing a variety of concerns (cancellations, not wanting to mask up, safety for self and others)

WHAT NOW??   We WILL RESCHEDULE the reunion for a future date, once the pandemic is truly under control.

WHAT ABOUT THE MONEY?  We want to refund all money (t-shirt and reservations & donations) to each Bearcat and guest.

HOW?  Two ways:
●    Via Zelle- You will receive your money the day after it is processed
●    Check - You will receive a check from Northwest Bank in a week to ten days
Please email Gene Mostrog gmostrog@gmail.com and let him know which method you want.  Read below for details for each option.

Zelle?  What do I need to do?
●    If you have a Zelle account
○    Check with your bank to see if they accept Zelle payments
○    Email Gene with the email or phone number used to set up the account
●    If you don’t have a Zelle account
○    Check with your bank to see if they accept Zelle payments
○    Download and install the Zelle app.
○    Set up a Zelle account using either your email or cell number
○    Email Gene with the email or phone number used to set up the account
Check?  What do I need to do?  Email Gene with your physical mailing address and a phone number
